RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav backed Congress president Rahul Gandhi over his attack on PM Modi wherein he had metaphorically called the Prime Minister a 'boxer' who knocked out his guru and colleagues.
Taking to Twitter, Tejashwai Yadav responded to a tweet posted by news agency ANI, and said: "This Boxer is Done, Down and KNOCKED OUT!", referring to PM Modi as the 'boxer'.
While addressing a rally in Haryana's Bhiwani, Rahul Gandhi called PM Modi a 'boxer' who instead of fighting unemployment, agrarian crisis and corruption, punched his own guru LK Advani and colleagues, Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Arun Jaitley.
"In the last elections, in India, a boxer was put in the ring. A boxer with a chest of 56 inches got in the ring. Narendra Modi the boxer was supposed to fight unemployment, farmer problems, corruption etc. But he instead turned around and punched his coach Advani ji, his team Gadkari ji, Jaitley ji, then went into the crowd and punched small traders and farmers," Rahul Gandhi said during the rally.
Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has been reiterating his 'Rahul Gandhi for PM' pitch on several occasions. While addressing a rally Samastipur, Bihar in April, Tejashwi Yadav has asserted that the country needs a PM like Rahul Gandhi who talks about the poor.
"We don't need a Prime Minister who favours the rich, we need a Prime Minister like Rahul Gandhi, who talks about the poor," he had said.
