Congress President Rahul Gandhi Friday reemphasises his 'love' for Prime Minister Narendra Modi but bewail that the latter holds anger towards him.

In an interaction with students in Pune, the Gandhi scion stated that he has no 'hatred or anger' towards PM Modi, however, PM has anger towards him.

He said, "I love PM Modi. Genuinely, I have no hatred or anger towards the man, but he (Modi) has anger towards me."

There were brief chants of "Modi, Modi" soon after this comment, to which Gandhi responded," Its fine.. its OK".

Earlier in March, Rahul Gandhi had spoken about his 'affection' for PM Modi, as he recalled the day he hugged PM Modi in the Parliament.

He said that he could not hate the Prime Minister since love is in the country's grain and religion. However, deep inside, he said, he felt affection for Modi and he thought Modi was angry "because he is not able to see the beauty of the world".

"So I thought that at least from my side, I should show him some affection."

When Rahul said, "I genuinely feel love for the Prime Minister," the students broke into laughter and raised their voices, to which he repeated "I genuinely do (love him)."

After a fiery speech in Parliament in October last year, Gandhi had done something unprecedented: He had walked up to Modi and hugged him, leaving the PM bewildered for a moment.

Shortly after his interaction with students in Pune, Gandhi said he loves everybody, including those 'temporarily blinded by hatred'.

"Hatred is cowardice. I don't care if the entire world is full of hatred. I am not a coward. I will not hide behind hate and anger. I love all living beings, including those temporarily blinded by hatred," Gandhi tweeted.
