In 'Sankalp Patra', BJP promises to take Women's Empowerment beyond tokenism and make it 'Women-led development'. Here's its 2019 election manifesto promise

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Amit Shah and other top leaders released BJP's manifesto for Lok Sabha Electiosn2019 on Monday. The "Sankalp Patra" or document of promises has been crafted on the theme of a "Sankalpit Bharat - Shashakt Bharat" or "determined India, empowered India". 

With the vision towards a 'New India', BJP has enlisted the promises that the party will fulfil in the next course of five years. To achieve its goal of a developed India, BJP stressed upon the spirit of 'Nari Shakti' (women empowerment). 

"Not just women development but women-led development that makes women the leading force of our development trajectory", reads a quote by PM Minister Narendra Modi in the opening paragraph of Women empowerment section.

Furthermore, the BJP promises to take Women's Empowerment beyond tokenism and make it 'Women-led development' by implementing 14 crucial points:

  • Affordable quality education to all women
  • Giving pace to women entrepreneurs, Self-help groups and women farmers by ensuring a safe and dignified life and access to resources
  • Women in the workforce' roadmap that will focus on dramatically increasing women workforce rate by encouraging industries to generate better employment opportunity
  • In order to generate better work opportunity for women, 10% material to be sourced for government procurement from MEMEs having at least 50% women employees in their workforce
  • Childcare facilities for working mothers
  • Ensuring equal right for women
  • Ensuring dignified life for women
  • Reservation for women

"After all, our dream of 'New India' is the one where women are strong and empowered and are equal partners in the development of our country", BJP's manifesto concludes.
