'India on its way to reject political instability': Here is Union Minister Arun Jaitley's prediction for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 result

After the second phase of Lok Sabha elections came to a close on Thursday, Union Minister Arun Jaitley has made his predictions about the results of the polls.

After the second phase of Lok Sabha elections came to a close on Thursday, Union Minister Arun Jaitley has made his predictions about the results of the polls.

Jaitley, in a series of three tweets, said that on the basis of the two phases of the elections, there was a clear upsurge in the favour of NDA and PM Narendra Modi. He added that the country was on its way to elect a stable government under the leadership of PM Modi by giving the BJP a majority and reject political instability and chaos.

He also said that the country was in for surprise with regards to how the results would fare for his party in North East, Bengal and Odisha.

Engulfed with controversies ranging from politics of polarisation to coalition tears, price tags on votes and even dopplegangers, the Lok Sabha elections on April 18 entered the second phase of voting. 

With 95 seats, 1619 candidates and 179880 polling booths at disposition here are the states that went to polls on Thursday -

Assam (5 seats), Bihar (5 seats), Chhattisgarh (3 seats), Jammu and Kashmir (2 seats), Karnataka (14 seats), Maharashtra (10 seats), Manipur (1 seat), Odisha (5 seats), Tamil Nadu (38 seats), Uttar Pradesh (8 seats), West Bengal(3 seats) and Puducherry (1 seat).
