Finance Minister Arun Jaitley systematically tore into the Congress party on Friday in light of senior Congress loyalist Sam Pitroda's shocking remarks wherein the gave Pakistan a clean chit for the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and the Pulwama terror attack.

On being asked for his views on the matter during the news briefing where cricketer Gautam Gambhir was inducted into the BJP, Arun Jaitley said that the statements were reflective of the fact that the people making them didn't understand the country.

Jaitley put forth that India has been a victim of terrorism since long before 26/11, and emphasised how India's air strike on Pakistan's terror bases following the Pulwama terror attack had been supported globally.

"Sam Pitroda says we didn't do the right thing, but no country said this."

Elaborating on how India's security doctrine has evolved under the Modi government, Jaitley also spoke about the recent phenomena of Pakistan citing Indian Opposition leaders' statements questioning the Balakot air strike and said:

"Sam Pitroda will be high on Pakistan's TRPs today."

Jaitley also rebutted Pitroda's statements where he had de-linked Pakistan from terrorism, saying, "there is no difference between state actors and non-state actors", and also said that Rahul Gandhi had served as a 'tutor' for politicians who had backed Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the Congress party moved to distance itself from Sam Pitroda's statements, with Randeep Surjewala tweeting:
