One of the most vocal faces of the Congress party and AICC Communications convenor, Priyanka Chaturvedi has officially quit from the Grand Old party on Friday by rendering her resignation to Congress president Rahul Gandhi.

Backing her over her decision, National Conference chief Omar Abdullah took to Twitter and extended best wishes to Priyanka Chaturvedi, saying that she was an 'asset' to the Congress party and 'fearless advocate' for its leadership.

In another tweet, Omar Abdullah lashed out at the Congress party for not standing up for Priyanka Chaturvedi, terming the way she quit the party as 'unfortunate'.

On Friday, Priyanka Chaturvedi removed all tags of All India Congress Committee from her bio on social media profiles - both from Twitter and Instagram. While her Twitter profile earlier started with 'Convenor - AICC Communications', it now starts with 'Columnist. Blogger..'

This development came in the light of the former Congress spokesperson calling out her own party in a strong-worded tweet, expressing discontent over the unfair treatment that she received by the grand old party, accusing it of 'inaction'. In a tweet on April 17, she shared how the 'lumpen goons' get more preference in the party than those who have given their 'sweat and blood'.
