PM Modi Sheds light on importance of "one vote", shares his message as India goes to poll in the final phase of General Elections

As voting begins for the final phase of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all those voting in this phase to vote in record numbers.

As voting begins for the final phase of 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged all those voting in this phase to vote in record numbers. Shedding light on the importance of "one vote", Prime Minister took to Twitter and wrote:

"Your one vote will shape India’s development trajectory in the years to come".

He also expressed hope that those voting for the first time will participate in the festival of democracy enthusiastically.

13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh will undergo polling, which will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking re-election from Varanasi.

Polling will be held in the following constituency:

  • Maharajganj
  • Gorakhpur
  • Kushinagar
  • Deoria
  • Bansgaon (SC)
  • Ghosi
  • Salempur
  • Ballia
  • Ghazipur
  • Chandauli
  • Varanasi
  • Mirzapur
  • Robertsganj (SC)

Union minister Manoj Sinha, Uttar Pradesh BJP chief Mahendra Nath Pandey are seeking re-election from Ghazipur and Chandauli, respectively. The BJP is contesting 11 Lok Sabha seats in this phase, while its ally Apna Dal (Sonelal) is contesting Mirzapur, currently held by Union minister Anupriya Patel, and Robertsganj.

The saffron party has pitted Bhojpuri actor Ravi Kishan from Gorakhpur against Congress's Madhusudan Tripathi and Rambhual Nishad of the Samajwadi Party.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spent the night before Election 2019 comes to an end in a cave 11,700 feet up in the Himalayas. He is on a two-day visit to the state of Uttrakhand. After paying obeisance at the Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath, PM Modi mediated in Rudra Gufa which is 2 km away from the shrine.

On May 19, 2019, PM Modi will take the chopper from Kedarnath to reach the Holy Shrine of Badrinath on the day-2 of his visit.
