Congress party chief Rahul Gandhi on Thursday said challenged PM Narendra Modi yet again for a debate when reminded about the Prime Minister's rally promise of "sending Congress leaders to jail"
"There have been many people in Indian history who have had the arrogance of believing they are bigger than the people of India. There's nothing bigger than the people of India. PM Modi has done nothing for the people of India. So, his invincibility will be in full view after the polls.
"I am perfectly happy for PM Modi if wants to have me investigated but he needs to tell me why he gave the Rafale deal to Anil Ambani whose company has no experience of making planes and a contract of Rs 30,000 crores.
"I want to have an open debate anywhere he wants. The day he has a debate with me that day he won't be able to look into the eyes of the people of India that day the truth will come out and the country will know that Chowkidar Chor he," he said.
Gandhi had stooped to a new low in politics on Tuesday when he resorted to attacking PM Modi. Addressing a gathering, the Congress president named the Prime Minister "Darpok".
"Aap ab samajhiye. Mai Narendra Modi ke saath panch saal se laad raha hoon, Samajh gaya hoon. Mai BJP ke kisi bhi neta se keh dete hoon aap ek baat karo, Narendra Modi ji lko 10 minute mere saath khada kardo aur debate kara do. National security pe debate kara do Rafale pe karo do. Bhaag jayeg? Mai kehta hoon ke yeh darpook vyakti hai".
(You all try to understand. I am fighting Narendra Modi for the past 5 years now and I have understood him. I want to convey this to all BJP leader, make Narendra Modi share stage with me, let's have a debate. Let's have a debate on National Security or Rafale. What? He will run away? I am telling you, he is a coward.)
