Shatrughan Sinha's "slip of tongue" on Pakistan's 'Quaid-e-Azam' Muhammad Ali Jinnah being a part of 'Congress family', raked up controversies across the political spectrum, and this time his former party's candidate Giriraj Singh has slammed the entire Congress party for Sinha's remark.

BJP's Behusarai candidate stated how Sinha is 'uttering truth' about the Congress party, on the contrary, during his time in the BJP, he spoke of 'patriotism and nationalism'

He said, "Till time Shatrughan was in BJP, he said things relating to patriotism and nationalism. The day he joined Congress, now he is uttering truth about Congress."

Singh pointed fingers towards the Congress party for whisking 'divisive and appeasement' politics, moreover blamed the Congress president of dipicting 'Pakistan in Wayanad'

He said, "Jinnah was symbol of divisive politics. Shatrughan and other Congress are doing appeasement politics. We are suffering from Nehru's mistakes even today."

"Rahul portrayed thing like Pakistan in Wayanad. They are really on Jinnah's path," he added.

Hours after Shatrughan Shah's controversial remark the Former Finance Minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram had said that the clarification must be taken from Sinha and not the party.

In a press conference of the Congress party, Chidambaram said: "I don't have to explain statement of each and every member, I can only speak about party's official stand. I have not heard his statement. I have not read his statement. I don't know weather he spoke in Hindi or English. Shatrughan Sinha and his comment, whatever he says, he must explain, but he was a part of BJP until two-three days ago, so the BJP must explain why he was in the party?"

On Saturday, former BJP leader and the newly inducted Congress party member Shatrughan Sinha had said, "This is a Congress family, it is a family of all from Mahatma Gandhi to Vallabhbhai Patel to Muhammad Ali Jinnah to Nehru to Late Indira Gandhi to Rajiv Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. It is a party, they have played a significant role in the development of the country, in advancing the country, in country's freedom, and therefore I joined this party, and once I am here, I will not go back."
