Phase four of the Lok Sabha polls are less than 20 hours away. Urging citizens to vote, many brands have shifted their advertising strategy to cash in on the poll frenzy. One big name to join the 'election awareness based ads' wagon is the food delivery giant - Zomato.
Zomato has released a new video on Saturday highlighting the importance of each vote captioning: "Some results aren't in your hands, some are."
The video starts with a food case study recently conducted by the company in three cities - Delhi, Pune and Kolkata. It reveals astonishing results stating that ' Chole Bhature lost to mashed potato in Delhi' with Chole Bhature- the most popular Punjabi delicacy -(or atleast I thought so) managed to get only 37% of the votes compared to the bland mashed potato which got 63% of the votes.
The video continues to reveal more crazy choices by saying ' Bruschetta beat Misal Pav in Pune' with the authentic Maharashtrian breakfast dish gathering only 41% of the votes compared to the Italian bread delicacy (Bruschetta) which got 59% of the votes. The biggest heartbreak occurs when the video reveals that 'Kolkata chose croissant over rosogullas' with croissant gaining a whopping 60% over rosogulla's 40% of the votes. The video also features the angry reactions of Indians all around to be awoken to such hard food facts.
The video ends with a social message urging voters to go and exercise their democratic right saying, " This was just the choice of food. Imagine if others choose who runs the country. You have one chance. One vote. Make it count."
