Asaduddin Owaisi, President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) mounted a scathing attack after Maneka Gandhi, Union Minister for Women & Child Development asked Muslims in Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh to vote for her, failing which she would not consider their requests for jobs “when elected”. Ms. Gandhi said this while addressing a public meeting.
Reacting to BJP minister's statement, Asaduddin Owaisi said:
"Yehi toh hum keh rahe ha. Modi ka sabka saath sabka vikas yehi hai? Yeh daar ke, khauf ke siyasat kar rahe hai pechle paanch saal se. Rooz expose ho rahe hai. Inka nakab utaar raha hai. Maneka Gandhi and BJP ko samjhna chahiye ke jo election ladega vo sabke kaam karega".
( This is what I am trying to say. For the past 5 years, they are doing politics of fear. They are getting exposed every day and their mask is falling off. Maneka Gandhi and BJP should understand that the one who will contest election will serve everyone.)
Earlier on Friday, Owaisi had tweeted, ” I say Muslims should get a FAIR DEAL in this country, that they should be treated as human beings & I am called ‘Bhadkhau Bhaijaan’”.
This comes after Gandhi had told Muslim voters that she won't help them if she doesn't get their support during her speech.
"I am winning for sure but if I win without the support of Muslims then I would feel really bad and when Muslims come to me for work then I feel there is no point of helping them as after all giving employment is a give-and-take and it is not that we are like Mahatma Gandhi as we continue to help them but don't win in the elections. Spread this message everywhere," she said.
