With the countdown to the Lok Sabha elections 2019 underway, the father-son duo, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav have stoked another political controversy, wherein the son has cited the BJP government to be 'dictatorial' for impeding his meet with his father.
Drawing a sensational charge against the Jharkhand government, Tejashwi Yadav has blamed the BJP government of blocking him from seeing his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav who is admitted in a Ranchi hospital.
Tejashwi labeled this episode as a 'conspiracy' against him and his family by the BJP government in the state further calling this a violation of 'human values'
In the video, it could be seen that Tejashwi is negotiating with the security officers, asking them to allow his entry into the hospital to see his father. He stated how it is in the rules of the jail that if a family member wishes to meet the prisoner, he is allowed to. He argued that he has been waiting to see his father since Saturday evening, however, his attempts are being deliberately blocked by the BJP government.
"We've come from so far, after campaigning at such a crucial hour and his health is not okay, as a son, let me see him for 5 minutes," Tejashwi Yadav told the security officers waiting at the entrance who argued that the deadline of visiting hours is until 5PM.
"It is in the jail manual, that if family members would like to meet, they are allowed," he added while the security forces refused permission citing rules.
He also had claimed that his father, who is serving a jail term for money laundering in three fodder scam cases, is being raided daily at the ward where he is admitted and alleged that security is not being provided to the RJD supremo.
In a series of tweets, Tejashwi Yadav lashing out at the "dictatorial" BJP government, said that Laluji is being 'schemed' and went on to say that this is a 'sheer violation of human values;
"Waiting to meet his father at Ranchi Hospital from yesterday evening, but the dictatorial BJP government is not allowing a son to meet his father as per rules. Laluji is being schemed. There is a daily raid in the prison security and also in the hospital in which they are living in their rooms."
"Two weeks ago, doctors had asked the jail superintendent to get Laluji's Echo and X-Ray. But that is not happening because security is not being provided to take them to another building. This is injustice. Is not being treated properly. It is a violation of sheer human values."
On Tuesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar accused RJD chief and his arch-rival Lalu Prasad Yadav of being in touch with his fellow associates through the telephone in contravention of the rules applicable to those serving a prison sentence. Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap, however, denied the accusation made by Nitish Kumar saying that he himself has not spoken to his father for over a month.
Meanwhile, RJD has stitched an alliance with the Congress party in Bihar where RJD would be contesting on 19 seats, Congress on 9 as per their seat-sharing formula
