In reciprocation to Rahul Gandhi's 'murder accused' tag, BJP president Amit Shah stated that a "fake case" was registered against him.

He alleged an 'absence of evidence' and 'political motivation' behind the case, furthermore taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi's "legal knowledge"

He said, "A fake case was registered against me in which court has delivered its judgement. The gist of the judgement is that it was a politically motivated case and there is no evidence in this case. I don't want to comment much on Rahul Gandhi's legal knowledge."

In spite of a complaint being lodged against the Congress president by the BJP, Rahul Gandhi reiterating his 'murder accused' tag has allegedly yet again indulged in a smear campaign against BJP's Amit Shah.

During his address, while referring to Amit Shah as a 'murder accused', the Gandhi scion has called Jay Shah a 'magician,' mocking the BJP president's son and accusing him of 'money laundering'

He said, "Murder accused BJP President Amit Shah....waah! kya shaan hai....Have you heard Jay Shah's name? He is a magician, he made Rs 50,000 into Rs 80 crore in 3 months."

In March, the BJP lodged a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer of Tripura against Congress president for the same tag. State BJP spokesperson Ashok Sinha on Sunday alleged that Mr Gandhi “violated” the provisions of the model code of conduct as he had stated in his speech at the March 20 rally in Khumulwng that Mr Shah was a “murder accused”.

The BJP leader stressed that the “false case” of murder against Shah was dismissed by the Supreme Court in 2014.

“A false case of murder was filed against Amit Shah during the Congress-led UPA regime, which was dismissed by the Supreme Court in 2014 itself. Mr Gandhi distorted facts for the sake of political mileage at a rally at Khumulwng,” Mr. Sinha said.
