  • Amit Shah spoke about the upcoming two phases and regional alliances

Amid the Lok Sabha elections, BJP president Amit Shah in an exclusive interaction with Republic Bharat elaborated on the electoral numbers and alliances of the last two phases.

After conducting over 300 rallies ever since January, BJP's Gandhinagar contender confidently stated that the party's seat share would grow from 2014 and that PM Narendra Modi will take the PM chair again.

He said, "So this statistics of carrying out more than 300 rallies, is being counted since January. As far as the question of BJP's poll victory is concerned, our seats will increase, the margin will increase and the areas where our candidates are fighting will increase compared to 2014. So the BJP will take a lead in all the three dimensions and is going to win with a better margin than it won with in 2014 and Narendra Modi ji is going to become the Prime Minister again."

Speaking of the last two phases, Shah noted how there is an alliance only on 10% seats and none in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab or West Bengal.

He said, "In these two phases, there is an alliance on 10% seats only and there's no alliance on any other seat. There is no alliance in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, West Bengal, only 25 seats are left with Gathbandhan."

When questioned if the regional parties such as Mamata Banerjee's TMC, Farooq Abdullah's NC win in their respective regions and then form an alliance, to which Shah responded:

He said, "First of all they think of winning because of gathbandhan, but how will it benefit them if there is no alliance in Haryana?"

"So, there's no possibility of victory. There's no alliance in Bengal, what's the use? Coming together after everything is done is another issue altogether. They can unite anytime, with or without Gathbandhan in  place," he added.
