WATCH: PM Modi Delivers Seething Counter To Rahul Gandhi's 'All Modis Are Chor' Remark, Warns 'won't Tolerate Abuses Against Entire Communities And Castes'

Written By Daamini Sharma | Mumbai | Published:

Up in arms against Rahul Gandhi's 'Sarre Modi Chor Hai' (All Modis are thieves) remark, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has mounted a blistering attack on the Congress President saying that 'he will not tolerate abuses like chor against the poor, dalits and people from backward castes'.

Prime Minister Modi, while addressing a rally in Maharashtra's Solapur, said:

"Haal mai apne dekha hai ke kaise mujhe gaali dete dete Congress ke naamdar ab ek purre samaj ko gaali dene mai jud gaye hai. Naamdar ne pehle chowkidaaron ko chor kaha, aur jab chowkidaar sab maidan mai aaye aur har Hindustani chowkidaar kehne laga toh unke muh par tala lag gaya aur ab muuh chupatey phir rahe hai. Aur ab jab chowkidaar chor hai mamla chala nahi toh ab ye baat bol rahe hai aur keh rahe hai ke jiska bhi naam Modi hai vo saare chor kyon hai. Pechda hone ke vajah se hum pechdo ko anek baar aise pareshaaniya jhelne pade hai. Anek baar Congress ne mere haisaat aur jate batane wale gaali dene mai koi kaami nahi rakhe hai. Lekin iss baar vo issey bhi aage baad gaye hai aap pure pechde samaj ko chor kehne lag gaye hai".

(You all must have observed that how the Namdaar of Congress party is not just abusing me but he is now abusing an entire community. Namdaar first called Chowkidaar chor then when all the chowkidaars stood up in arm against him, his was silent. And now that his chowkidaar chor campaign did not work he mounted another attack and this time he said all Modi's are chor. Coming from a backward caste, I was attacked by Congress time and again but now they have lowered further and is attacking an entire community)

"Arey mujhe gaali do mai kaye varsho se bardash karta aaya hoon. Lekin chahey Chowkidaar ho, pechda ho, Dalit ho, aadivasi ho aagar kisi ko gali dene ke himmat ke toh Modi bardaash nahi karega aur yeh desh barbad karega", he added.

( I've been tolerating the abuses of Opposition for years, but Modi won't tolerate abuses like chor against the poor, dalits and people from backward castes)

Earlier, BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Sushil Kumar Modi had said that he will file defamation suit against him for calling all Modi’s surname 'CHOR'.

Taking to Twitter, the Bihar Minister blasted the Congress chief and wrote:

Earlier, a defamation suit was filed against Congress president Rahul Gandhi in a court in Bhopal on Monday over the same remark.

“I have faced a lot of insult because of his remark. A lot of people asked if all Modis are thieves and hence I filed the suit,” said Pradeep Modi, the petitioner.

The Congress president on 13 April, while taking a jibe at Prime Minister Modi, had reportedly said: “I have a question. Why do all thieves have Modi in their names — whether it is Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi or Narendra Modi? We don’t know how many more such Modis will come out.”

The court will take up the defamation suit on 1 May.
