  • Sadhvi Pragya, who is facing trial in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case under UAPA and is currently out on bail
  • She became the new inductee on BJP's ticket in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal seat in a political fray against Congress veteran Digvijay Singh.

Prakash Ambedkar explicitly titled RSS as a 'terror organisation' when questioned about Sadhvi Pragya's candidature on BJP's ticket in Bhopal.

In an unrestrained attack on RSS, the grandson of B.R Ambedkar accused the political wing of the organisation, BJP of inducing 'terrorism in politics' over their candidature.

He said, "The character of BJP is out, RSS is a terror organisation. Now they want to bring terrorism in politics, I hope the people of Bhopal give a befitting reply."

Sadhvi Pragya, who is facing trial in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case under UAPA and is currently out on bail, became the new inductee on BJP's ticket in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal seat in a political fray against Congress veteran Digvijay Singh.

The Congress party over Pragya's case had infamously coined the 'Hindu terror' bogey and further blamed the BJP of pushing their 'Hindutva agenda'

Fielded on a BJP stronghold, Sadhvi Pragya speaking to the media said, "Restoring respect to Hindutva will be my agenda. I will also expose the misuse of law by the then Congress government and the insult of women within the party. I have been given a clean chit.  All the conspiracies against me have failed. I have a clean chit. The conspiracy against me has been exposed. We will fight to restore dignity. We will work together, win together and keep the country safe and developed."

The Dalit leader who stoked the controversy through his statement  is contesting from Solapur and Akola constituencies in Maharashtra as a candidate of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) - an alliance of Ambedkar-led Bharip Bahujan Mahasangh and Asaduddin Owaisi's AIMIM.

This provocative statement came on the day when the country stepped into the second phase of Parliamentary elections. Between the phase one and two, the election campaigns were engulfed with controversies ranging from politics of polarisation to coalition tears, price tags on votes and even dopplegangers.
