WATCH | "They used to want to send each other to jail": PM Modi takes on SP-BSP alliance, harkens back to their past

PM Narendra Modi hit out at the BSP-SP coalition in Uttar Pradesh during his rally in Meerut. Attacking the parties for corruption in the state and becoming coalition partners only for power, he revealed their bitter political rivalry through the decades.

"They wanted to kill Behenji in the guesthouse now they want to be coalition partners. They used to want to send each other to jail 

"In the earlier polls, we saw the game between two men which has moved very quickly from there to Bua-Babua. These are the same people who don't want anything more their power and took turns to loot UP. This went on for years in UP. In 2014 and 2017, the people showed that they won't allow these parties to divide them on the basis of caste," he said.

PM Modi later launched and attack at the alliance which will be fighting against the BJP and Congress in the state. He suggested that they are no better than alcohol, and people should not bring them to power.

"On one side, there is SP-BSP-RLD. You can see this from a different view. The S of SP, R of RLD and B of BSP means 'Sharaab' (alcohol). SP, RLD, BSP - This sharaab will destroy you," PM Modi said as he gave a whole new meaning to the term.

He then went onto ask the people in his rally if they want to avoid this coalition for a good government, just like avoiding alcohol for good health.
