After concluding the 2019 Lok Sabha election campaigns, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah conducted a press briefing at the BJP Headquarters in New Delhi. Accompanied by other leaders of the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India's secularism and unity while speaking to the media.

When a reporter asked BJP chief Amit Shah on allegations that the level of elections has been lowered by the BJP, he said that if talking on corruption is lowering the level, then that is democratic right to point out corruption. 

"I cannot expect anything more from the Opposition, but I want to tell you that our politicians did not start it. Yes, we talked about issues, we spoke on corruption, if talking about corruption is lowering the bar of the Elections then I will say that we will talk on corruption because it is our democratic right also as well as it is our duty."

Elaborating on the election campaign, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude towards the people of India. 

He said, "For me the elections were about expressing gratitude to the people of India. I have said thanks wherever I went. And I am here to thank you too. The journey we had started, we need the people’s blessing to move forward with it."
