'We Voted. Have You?' Asks Anil Kumble After He Casts His Vote With His Better Half Chethana In Phase 2 Of The Lok Sabha Polls

As voting in the second phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections began on Thursday, the sports fraternity is taking the initiative of coming forward and making citizens aware of their right to cast votes. After Olympic medallists PV Sindhu and Vijender Singh had encouraged people to vote for a better future, two former sportspersons who are now active in politics Mohammad Azharuddin and Bhaichung Bhutia had posted a picture of them after casting votes.

The latest person from the sports fraternity to join this list is former Indian captain and head coach Anil Kumble. Kumble posted his picture after he had cast his vote along with his wife Chethana.

Kumble who is the world's third highest wicket-taker with 619 scalps mentioned that he and his spouse have voted and also asked the citizens whether they have voted.

During the first phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, badminton sensation Jwala Gutta took to Twitter and had urged the people to vote for a bright future after she had cast her vote with her family.

Gutta had once again given a reminder before the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Tennis star Sania Mirza also took the initiative of making people aware of their rights by going out and voting.

In Karnataka, these are the 14 seats are undergoing polls on Thursday: Bangalore, Central Bangalore, North Bangalore, Rural Bangalore, South Chamarajnagar, Chikballapur, Chitradurga, Dakshina, Kannada, Hassan, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Tumkur, Udupi, and Chikmagalur. The remaining 14 seats will see polling on April 23.

Voting for the 543 Lok Sabha seats is being held in seven phases: April 11, April 18, April 23, April 29, May 6, May 12 and May 19. Counting of votes will take place on May 23.
