Amid the political heat over the results of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, it seems all is not well between the Congress-JD(S) alliance in the state of Karnataka following Congress stronghold Roshan Baig accused state party chief Dinesh Gundu Rao of being a "flop show" and, later appealing the Muslims to join the NDA if the PM Modi-led alliance wins on May 23.
On Wednesday, sources within the former PM Deve Gowda-led JD(S) has told Republic TV, that the party will decide on alliance with other party after the declaration of results on Thursday.
This attack by the Congress leader came in the aftermath of the exit polls which predicted a second term for the NDA at the Centre and a rout for the Congress-JD(S) alliance in Karnataka.
Following rebel Cong leader Roshan Baig's statement, Congress MLA Sudhakar K from the state on Wednesday took to Twiter and questioned the issue of EVM manipulation being raised during the exit poll projections.
In the tweet, he has further stated even as EVMs are being questioned, the exit poll result indicates the feeling of the voter at the conclusion of polling.
On May 19, Republic's double exit poll had projected the BJP coming out on top against the Congress-JD(S) alliance.
Karnataka Congress leader Roshan Baig on Tuesday had slammed his party, saying that he is hurt by the attitude of some of the leaders including Siddaramaiah and Dinesh Gundu Rao.
On being asked if minority leaders have been sidelined within the party, Baig had said, "Yes, they have taken us for granted. They think we can't go anywhere. They want to treat us as cattle."
On Tuesday, Congress had accompanied TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu among the delegation of 21 opposition parties to meet the Election Commission raising their demands over tallying VVPAT slips with EVM figures.
