In the Baghelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh, which includes 56 constituencies under it, BJP is projected to retain its win, according to the Jan Ki Baat exit poll. However, the party is predicted to lose only one seat in the entire region with Congress making the gains.

Following the extensive elections campaigning across the poll-bound states, Baghelkhand was one region in Madhya Pradesh where Congress president Rahul Gandhi toured considerably to win over the voters. Furthermore, amid multiple Rafale allegations during his election rallies, this was one of the prominent regions where Rahul Gandhi had put up his Hindu bhakt avatar and going on various temple visits to temples like the Kamtanath Temple in Chitrakoot.

Despite these efforts, the concoction of soft Hindutva and an all-out attack based on the Rafale deal, the BJP is projected to retain Baghelkhand as strongly with losing just a single seat as compared to its performance in the 2013 assembly elections.

Speaking about the state of Madhya Pradesh, Jan Ki Baat exit polls predicts the BJP will have the edge. However, the seat share for BJP is anticipated to fall from 165-seat performance in 2013 to 108-128 seats in 2018 assembly elections. For Congress, the seat share is projected to rise from 58 seats to 95-115 seats in the 2018.

Meanwhile, Others are predicted to win only 7 seats out of the total 230 seats in Madhya Pradesh.
