Ahead of the assembly elections in the state, politicians from all different political parties are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Sharad Singh Kumar, leader of Rashtriya Aamjan Party, contesting on the election symbol of a shoe in Bhopal, has garnered the attention of citizens, owing to his unique style of campaigning.
Sharad Singh was seen polishing shoes of the voters after stating that he is going to make use of his unique election symbol to turn it into a blessing. Speaking to news agency ANI, Singh said, ''It was a free poll symbol that no one was willing to take. We took it and we will turn it into a blessing".
Interestingly, this is not the first time an out of the box election campaign has come grabbed the attention. As the state of Telangana is gearing up for the upcoming assembly elections that are scheduled to take place on December 7, Akula Hanumanth, an independent candidate from Korutla constituency of Jagtial district was seen distributing slippers to the voters. He later gave signed slips to the citizens, asking them to hit him with the same slipper if he does not fulfil their expectations after winning the Telangana elections.
The state of Madhya Pradesh will go to polls to elect legislators for its 230 constituencies on November 28. Results of the polls will be declared on December 11.
