The Congress government in Madhya Pradesh has been left hugely embarrassed after a farmer during a meeting with Jyotiraditya Scindia confronted him over the loan waiver promise. Rahul Gandhi and Kamal Nath had ahead of the state assembly elections promised loan waivers to farmers within 10 days of being voted to power. The promise has not yet been fulfilled and Kamal Nath too has admitted the same.
As seen in the video, a farmer has confonted Jyotiraditya Scindia about the promise. Amid the chants of 'Jyotiraditya Zindabad', the farmer stands up and repeatedly tries to question Scindia, but he is asked to sit down and told he will be allowed to speak later. He stood up when Scindia spoke about the loan waiver promise. The farmer said that police officials were after farmers who had defaulted on loans.
On December 12, 2018, Congress won the Assembly Elections in three states - Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh & Madhya Pradesh. During the election, their biggest promise was to waive off the loans of the farmers in only 10 days.
Now it has been over 150 days since the Congress party came to power in the three states. And the promise is far from being kept. Republic Media Network's investigative team exposed the reality behind the fulfillment of the promise made to farmers which left a lot to be desired.
Earlier, Republic TV had exposed Congress' hollow promise of waiving farmer loans in the stage in its sting 'Operation Karz Maafi'.
In Republic TV's expose, Congress MLAs had spoken to in on-camera conversations which exposed just how the farmers were waylaid after their votes helped the Congress come to power in the state.
BJP president Amit Shah on Friday had spoken exclusively to Republic Media Network's Political Editor Aishwarya Kapoor about where he attacked the Congress' Kamal Nath led-Madhya Pradesh government calling it an 'ATM of corruption'. He was reacting to a question about Republic Bharat's sting operation which lay bare how the loan waiver plan of the Madhya Pradesh government has actually increased the burden on the farmers in the state after being operationalised by the Kamal Nath administration.
"Well, I saw the Republic sting. But this is not the only issue, there is rampant coruption. Madhya Pradesh has become the ATM of corruption for Rahul Gandhi," he said.
