Backing the controversial pick of Sadhvi Pragya Thakur by BJP for contesting the Bhopal Lok Sabha polls, RSS Leader Indresh Kumar has slammed former J&K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah and Congress Leader Digvijaya Singh for opposing Thakur's candidacy and calling her a 'Hindu terrorist'.
Hitting out at Farooq Abdullah, whose son Omar Abdullah had made a controversial statement reiterating a past demand for a 'separate Prime Minister' for the state of Jammu and Kashmir over BJP's manifesto pitch to abolish Article 370 and 35A, Kumar said:
"There are some religious politicians like Farooq Abdullah and others who are not faithful to the country, and not fair according to Islam. They want a separate Prime Minister for Jammu-Kashmir which is terrorism and treason in itself. A case should be filed against Farooq Abdullah and he should be punished for this."
Speaking on Digvijaya Singh's earlier statement of accusing the RSS for 'Hindu terror' , Kumar demanded that Singh should apologize and withdraw his candidacy.
"Related to the Sadhvi Pragya matter, Congress has accused her of 'Hindu Terror' and harassed her, while she was proven to be innocent after thorough investigation by agencies as they could not find any evidence against her alleged crimes. Those who have made the sin of accusing Hindus of terror, have harassed such saints (sanyasis), it is time they repay for these sins. Congress's Digvijaya Singh should withdraw his candidacy and repent and wash away his sins by doing so. And I wish Sadhvi Pragya the best wishes for her win," Kumar added.

BJP had inducted Sadhvi Pragya into the party on Wednesday and announced that she will contest from the Bhopal constituency of Madhya Pradesh against Congress veteran Digvijaya Singh. She is a key accused in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case and is currently out on bail due to health concerns. Reacting to her candidacy, Former Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had said that 'the party is proving its Hindutva ideology by inducting her'. NC Chief Omar Abdullah has said that the court should cancel her bail, as, if she is fit enough to contest elections, she is fit enough to go back to jail.
