It appears that the Congress in Maharashtra is facing yet another jolt as the nation heads to the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
The party which faced setbacks owing to its potential allies not turning into coalition, may now see its state Congress chief quitting.
A sensational audio tape which is doing the rounds in social media has the Maharashtra Congress chief Ashok Chavan saying that nobody is listening to him and that he was thinking of resigning. The audio tape has gone viral on social media.
Chavan did not deny the authenticity of the tape. Speaking to the media, he said, "This is private conversation with a party member and it is not in public domain. So, no comments."
Republic TV has accessed the tape where Chavan is heard speaking about the mulling about resigning to his party worker from Chandrapur called Rajurkar.

Rajurkar, Congress worker: Hello, Good morning sir.
Ashok Chavan: Who's speaking?
Rajurkar, Congress worker: Sir Rajurkar here, from Chandrapur,
Ashok Chavan: Yes, go on.
Rajurkar, Congress worker: Sir, will the ticket be given to Vinayak Bangade.
Ashok Chavan: What?
Rajurkar, Congress worker: Sir, we have our candidate. Will our candidate surely contest from there? There are no candidate of ours in Maharashtra. Is he confirmed in Chandrapur?
Ashok Chavan: What you are talking about... Connect to Mukul Vasnik. I have full support but they don't understand.
Rajurkar, Congress worker: Sir, we are... Not only me but about Vinayak Bangade...
Ashok Chavan: I am with you in this matter, hope you understand that.
Rajurkar, Congress worker: Mukul Vasnik is nobody in front of you. You take care of entire Maharashtra.
Ashok Chavan: Nobody is ready to listen to me. I tried a lot. My mindset is such that right now that I may resign. You speak to Mukul Vasnik.
The Congress has faced multiple issues in the state during its preparation for the general elections.
Earlier, Sujay Vikhe Patil, son of the Maharashtra Assembly's Leader of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil joined the BJP.
On Wednesday, the party was caught in a controversy for giving a ticket to a candidate with links to Sanatan Sanstha.
