Union Minister Smriti Irani, along with husband Zubin Irani, shows her inked finger after casting vote for a 'strong, secure and developed India'

As Mumbaikars go to vote in the fourth phase of 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister Smriri Irani, along with husband Zubin Irani, casted her vote on Monday. Taking to Twitter, the BJP leader shared a selfie showing her inked finger. She wrote:

"Participated in the biggest festival of democracy. Casted my vote in Mumbai for a strong, secure and developed India."

Earlier in the day, BJP's Poonam Mahajan along with her brother Rahul Mahajan reached the polling booth to exercise her franchise.

  After casting her vote, Mahajan interacted with the media persons and said that she is happy to see the enthusiasm of the new voters. 

"This is how voters of Mumbai will come out. I have been voting in Centre for many many years. At 06: 45 hours, the kind of rush that I see here I am really hopeful Mumbai will come out in large numbers and Mumbai will vote. Mumbaikar vote kar. (Mumbaikar cast your vote). Though it is the long weekend, our Honourable Prime Minister has always spoken about democracy and strengthening the democracy, how do you strengthen it? By voting. I have seen in first-time voters and second-time voters, they are enthusiastic. Hundreds of people studying outside are coming back and voting. I am really hopeful and confident," she said.

The country is voting in the fourth phase of elections on April 29, Monday in 72 seats across 9 states. The state of Maharashtra is in its last leg of Lok Sabha elections 2019 with 17 out of state's 48 seats polling on Monday.
