Arvind Kejriwal Responds To Rahul Gandhi's Plea For Cong-AAP Alliance, Asks 'which U-turn Are You Talking About?'

Written By Daamini Sharma | Mumbai | Published:

Seconds after Rahul Gandhi pleaded Arvind Kejriwal for a Cong-AAP alliance in the National capital while turning the failure of the possible alliance toward Arvind Kejriwal, AAP supremo replied to the Congress president asking: "Which U-turn are you talking about? The negotiations are very much ongoing"

Taking to Twitter, the AAP leader wrote:

(Which U-turn are you talking about? The negotiations are very much ongoing. I see your tweet on Mahagathbandhan. I am saddened to see that you are indulging in political attacks. The need of the hour is to save Rahul Gandhi from Modi-Amit Shah. It is unfortunate that even in Uttar Pradesh you are helping Modi government by dividing the votes)

Moreover, AAP leader Sanjay Singh also tweeted:

(In Punjab, we've 4 MPs and 20 MLAs and Congress doesn’t want to share seats there. The same situation is in Haryana, Goa and Chandigarh. In Delhi, where they don’t have any MLA or MP, they're demanding three seats. Is this a formula? Why don't you want to defeat BJP in other states?)

Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi said that if Congress joins hand with AAP in Delhi it would mean the rout of the BJP. He also added that even though Congress' doors are still open, AAP chief has made yet another U-turn.

With speculation of an alliance between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress refusing to die down, AAP moved its campaign up a notch for the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, holding nine public meetings on Monday. Having announced candidates for all seven Lok Sabha seats of Delhi last month, the AAP has been campaigning across the city for weeks now. But AAP leaders, as well as some in the Congress, have kept the possibility of an alliance open.
