BJP leader Dr Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said that he is willing to help the party's East Delhi candidate Gautam Gambhir in his legal battle against Aam Aadmi Party after it accused him of distributing pamphlets against Atishi Marlena. The party has sent him a legal notice demanding an apology for circulating the pamphlets.

In a tweet, he said that, 'If Gambir needs help in Courts, I will be happy to help him.'

AAP had held a media briefing in the nation's capital city on Thursday to address the malicious issue wherein a charge was made against the BJP candidate of distributing pamphlets claiming the party's East Delhi candidate to be a 'prostitute' furthermore appealing the voters to not vote for the 'prostitute'. Atishi Marlena blamed Gambhir for 'stooping very low' and broke down.

She said, "I am very much saddened for doing this press conference. I welcomed Gambhir when he filed his nomination. I admired him as a person. But he stopped very low for just an election. I don't want money and fame. Gambhir's team circulated a letter against me."

The AAP had on Friday sent a notice to the BJP and its East Delhi Lok Sabha seat candidate Gautam Gambhir demanding an apology for the derogatory pamphlet allegedly circulated against Atishi Marlena, failing which "appropriate legal proceedings will be initiated".

The AAP said the apology should be handed over to it personally in writing by BJP and Gambhir as well as should be printed in newspapers within 24 hours of receiving of the notice, failing which "appropriate legal proceedings will be initiated".
