In an embarrassment to the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi party, its MLA Anil Bajpai has joined BJP on Friday, just three days ahead of the fifth phase of elections. The Lok Sabha election that is going to take place in Delhi on May 12 will have a mouthwatering contest amidst allegation of EVM malfunctioning, horse trading, etc.

Bajpai joined the BJP in presence of national vice president and Delhi BJP in-charge Shyam Jaju, and Union Minister Vijay Goel, at the Delhi unit office.

"I worked for the AAP for 15 years. I was hurt by lack of respect and peculiar type of functioning in the party. It has detracted from its original path", he said.

Incidentally, Bajpai's joining comes just two days after AAP leader and Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia claimed that BJP is trying to poach 7 AAP MLAs and are offering Rs 10 crore each. He further added that the BJP is doing this due to fear of loss in the national capital.

Taking to Twitter, the AAP leader alleged that all the seven AAP legislators from had been offered Rs 10 crore each to quit the party and switch over to BJP. He further challenged the Prime Minister to come on the battlefield on the grounds of development and not "buying the legislators".

"Due to the fear of losing in Delhi, BJP is trying to buy the 7 AAP MLAs with an offer of 10-10 crores each. Modi ji, this does not suit you. You want to win the elections by buying the MLAs. Come to the field in the name of work," wrote Manish Sisodia taking to Twitter.

This claim from the AAP leader came only days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi claimed that 40 Trinamool MLAs were in touch with him.
