On a day when several in the Opposition have made shameful comments against PM Narendra Modi, the AAP joined the list by making a shocking personal attack at the PM. The party's Twitter handle has called the Prime Minister of the nation 'General Dyer'. The party's chief Arvind Kejriwal has retweeted the post where the AAP said that 'General Dyer Modi's police brutally pelting stones on the citizens in Mayapuri, Delhi'.

Clashed had broken out between locals and the security forces in Delhi's Mayapuri area after MCD officials began to seal some factories in the area following National Green Tribunal's (NGT) order to seal nearly 850 factories

Kejriwal commented on his retweet saying that the BJP has lathi charged the shopkeepers and closed their shops in Mayapuri in exchange for their support to the party.

Colonel Reginald Dyer is the infamous British officer under whose orders troops fired upon hundreds of Sikhs who had gathered peacefully on the occasion of Baisakhi on April 13, 1919. The firing led to the deaths of over 300 Sikhs. The comment comes as the nation mourns and remembers the martyrs of the event on its 100 year anniversary.

The gaali politics has made a comeback in the election season. A BSP candidate earlier on Friday, Bhagwan Sharma, fielded by party supremo Mayawati and her ally SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on the Fatehpur Sikri seat brazenly abused Prime Minister Modi.

"We are coming to your house. He says, my (abuses) is lying around. Listen, (abuses). (Recites Sanskrit Shloka). Oh (abuses). Your government is (abuses). Your Yogi has not done anything. Your Modi did not do anything. And listen the ones who went away (unclear)."

The 'chaiwala' attack also re-emerged, this time with the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal attacking the Prime Minister's origins saying that PM Modi should go and sell tea and pakodas.

"All the Opposition alliances against Modi of which we are a part will remove him out of this country. He will then go somewhere and open a tea stall and will sell pakodas too," said Ajmal to reporters.

The 'chaiwala' jibe was first coined by the Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar ahead of the 2014 Lok Sabha elections when he had attacked the then Gujarat CM saying Modi was welcome to set up a tea shop near All Indian Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters and serve it during AICC meetings. Following this, the BJP had launched the highly popular 'chai pe charcha' campaign, a spin-off from this highly controversial statement.
