As polling in Madhya Pradesh approaches ever closer, PradeepPollPulse has ventured into what has come to be a bellwether seat. Of the 230 constituencies in the M.P assembly, Jawad, for the last three-and-a-half decades, has retained a critical record -- whichever party wins in Jawad also goes on to form a government in Madhya Pradesh.
Accordingly, it is the BJP that is currently in hold of the seat, though the party faces a stiff challenge this time around, not just from their main opposition, the Congress, but also from an independent candidate.
The current incumbent is Omprakash Saklecha, and he is once again in the fray for what would be his fourth consecutive win. Representing the Congress is Rajkumar Ahir, while Samandar Patel, an independent, is also in contention.
Pradeep Bhandari, CEO and founder of Jan Ki Baat, spoke to a number of to-be-voters in Jawad and got a sense of what they're saying so close to polling day, making a very interesting conclusion at the end.
