The Congress' proclivity to make personal and abusive attacks seems to only be getting more accentuated and brazen as a Rajasthan Congress MLA Mahendra Jeet Singh Malviya has now directed shocking and filthy abuse at Narendra Modi. The MLA from Bagidora in Banswara was speaking at a public rally on Sunday. While asking the public whether they saw any development by Centre, he used an abuse against the Prime Minister.
'Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi, Har Har Modi, Ghar Ghar Modi (expletive). Where did all these slogans go? We have been hit badly in the five years. People have suffered in the last five years. Now it is time for the people to punish them,' he said.
BJP's spokesperson Sambit Patra has said that Congress needs to punish the leaders who have used such language and asked Rahul Gandhi if this was the politics of love he preached.
"It's quite a sorry state of affair, the kind of abusive language, that too from top leaders who are using it against Mr Modi and his family. It is appalling. We have seen how CP Joshi questioned about the caste of Mr Modi. We have seen how Raj Babbar had talked about Mr Modi's mother. We have seen how Vilasrao Muttemwar had abused the father of PM Modi. And now we have a language which can't be spoken in civil discourse. What is happening to Congress is showing. The Congress party is losing out on elections and hence using such language of frustration. A strict action needs to be taken against the Congress leaders of the party who use such words.
While Rahul Gandhi was taking oath as the president of Congress party if you remember, in his speech, he said I am Congress, I am love and I will always follow the politics of love. Is this the politics he knows? Is this what the representatives of Congress want to follow?
What kind of hypocrisy of Rahul Gandhi is this? While on the floor of parliament he did the drama of hugging PM Modi. We have his own army hitting out at PM Modi. I personally feel this is the Congress' characteristic feature. You are used to power. This is the way they start behaving when they see power is not going to come to them. People of the country are extremely intelligent and they wil, on election day on 7, answer the party," he said.
Earlier UPA minister Vilasrao Muttemwar and Congress leader Raj Babbar had made personal comments against PM Modi.
Muttemwar had said that no one knew the Prime Minister's father's name.
"What accountability are you (Modi) seeking? If you are seeking accountability, first you should reveal your history. Who knew you before you became the Prime Minister? Even today nobody knows your father's name. Everyone knows Rahul's father's name -- Rajiv Gandhi. Everyone knows Rajiv Gandhi's mother's name -- Indira Gandhi. Everyone knows Indira's father's name - Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. And everyone knows Motilal Nehru is the father of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Everyone knows five generations. But this Narendra? Nobody knows his father's name."
Last month Raj Babbar had brought in the Prime Ministers mother while attempting to comment on the value of the Rupee.
Addressing an election rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh's Indore, Babbar said:
"Diesel and Petrol prices were exorbitant. Today I would like to say to Mr Prime Minister - listen to your own voice. At least have this much honesty. You'd said that they were unlucky but you are an inauspicious man that during your reign the Diesel and Petrol prices have shot up. This is your doing. I have not seen the Prime Minister's horoscope, so I can't tell about if he's inauspicious, bad omen or unlucky. But I am talking about his words. When he used to say tbout the Rupee's value versus the Dollar, he said, the Rupee is falling so much that it is touching the former Prime Minister's age. Today, Mr Prime Minister, I would like to say that your words were not out of respect but this is not our tradition, but I'd like to say that the Rupee is falling as low as your respected mother's age."
