The fight for Rajasthan is in its last leg. All parties have put their entire strength to come to power in the land of Maharana Pratap. The main fight is between the Congress & the BJP. But there is one face in the Rajasthan poll campaign which has generated a lot of curiosity among the voters and that face is none other than the Balasaheb Thackeray's grandson Aaditya Thackeray who has extensively campaigned for Shiv Sena candidates in Rajasthan.

Shiv Sena is contesting on 39 seats (out of 200) of Rajasthan. This is the first time when someone from the Thackeray family has gone out into the Hindi belt for poll campaigning.

Yuva Sena chief Aaditya Thackeray has Exclusively spoken to the Republic TV about his poll campaign in the land of Rajput kings.

Speaking to Republic TV, Aaditya Thackeray said, "We have got a very good response in Rajasthan. There is a lot of enthusiasm among voters, they are looking for a change & Shiv Sena has the potential to give an alternative to the people. Every five years BJP or Congress comes into power in the state as voters do not have any options other than these two parties. But now there is a huge anger in the public about these two parties. We want to give an alternative to the people of Rajasthan."

Voters have witnessed an extreme level of polarization during the campaign, from Hindu-Muslim comments to deliberations over the caste of Lord Hanuman. Aaditya targeted the BJP & Congress saying that both the parties have intentionally raised such religious issues so that they can divert the voters' attention from core issues which are directly related to the people. "For us, education & health issues are on priority", Thackeray said, adding, "We want to give better education to the students, good health services to the poor."

On the allegations of playing 'Hindutva politics' against Shiv Sena, Aaditya said "our Hindutva is not for votes. Our Hindutva is about nationalism. We work for the nation whereas BJP uses Hindutva as a poll plank."

During the interview, Aaditya also elaborated on Shiv Sena’s national ambitions. He said, "till now we have not ventured beyond Maharashtra because BJP was our ally. But now we have decided to contests in other states as well. When we always raise national issues, why can’t we enter national politics? Shiv Sena's units are already in many states. Now we just want to make them strong."

Other than Rajasthan which goes to polls on December 7, Shiv Sena also contested in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and will also contest in Telangana.
