Moments after senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot asserted confidence claiming that his party would form the government in Rajasthan, in the light of the early trends for the assembly elections results on Tuesday, party's possible CM candidate Sachin Pilot addressed the media stating that the party is in touch with all the electoral candidates who are have been against the BJP in the state.
"BJP is all set to face defeat here. We are looking forward towards achieving a majority here. We have worked with like-minded parties on every issues in earlier cases. I have been in touch with all the independent leaders who are against the BJP. We are getting their support. This is a big sign of danger for BJP here. All the candidates will win against the BJP. We are in touch with them," Pilot said while speaking to the media.
Earlier on Tuesday, when the counting of assembly election votes is underway, reacting to the trends at 11 AM when Congress was being projected to get 100 seats, Sachin Pilot had said:
"From the early trends, it is very clear that the Congress party will come to power with full majority. We should wait for the final result, but the indications in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and in Rajasthan confirms Congresss will form the government. It is the hard work of the Congress workers in the last five years that we are growing from 21 seats to attaining full majority."
Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot had also expressed confidence in his party's victory in the assembly elections. Mr Gehlot added. He also credited Rahul Gandhi for the party's good performance in all the five states, including Rajasthan.
"The decision on the chief minister's post would be taken by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and party members of the legislative assembly (MLAs). Congress has won the mandate. Numbers can go up and down but the public's mandate is in the favour of Congress. We will get clear majority, still we would want independent candidates and parties other than BJP to support us if they want," Mr Gehlot said while addressing the media.
However, amid the latest showing Congress party leading ahead of BJP, the party chief or other leaders have not yet revealed who will be the face of the Chief Minister for Rajasthan, if Congress comes to power.
As per the latest trends in Rajasthan at 1:07 PM, Congress stays above 100-mark as against BJP which is 76:
