Hours before the counting of votes begin in the state of Rajasthan, incumbent CM Vasundhara Raje left from her residence to visit the Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur in order to hold a special puja.
Raje, who also served as the CM of the state between 2003 to 2008, is having her backs against the walls in her fight to become the CM for the third time. Following the elections, which were held in the state on December 7, the exit polls suggested that she and BJP may face huge anti-incumbency.
As per the poll of polls, conducted by Republic TV, Congress is expected to sweep the state with 115 seats, with BJP coming well behind with 76 seats. The others are predicted to get 8 seats in the 199-seat assembly.
The results of five states which headed into elections in the past month will be announced on December 11. Along with Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Mizoram will also learn its fate on Tuesday.
