Kamal Hassan Says Rajinikanth Assured Support To His Party Makkal Needhi Maiam: Reports

Makkal Needhi Maiam chief Kamal Haasan has reached out to Rajinikanth to support his party. 

In an interview to a regional daily, he had said he had asked for support from Rajinikanth for his party when the superstar-turned-politician visited his party office. He added that Rajinikanth had assured his support to him. 

Haasan as earlier through the media had asked for the support of Rajinikanth indirectly. He had even once claimed that Rajinikanth is supporting him.

In the interview, Haasan also slammed parties which called him the B-team of BJP.  Lashing out at them he said that the people who call him B-team of BJP will be ready to switch the alliance after the elections during the selection of PM.  He also said that they will indulge in horse trade post the polls.

He also hit out at the DMK and ADMK on the recent IT seizures, and said that the communists will be regretting for having alliance with a party like DMK.

Hasan recently announced an alliance with Mamata Banerjee's TMC for Andaman and Nicobar islands after meeting the TMC president Mamata Banerjee. He also informed that he will be campaigning for TMC candidate in Andaman on 6th of April.

While addressing a press briefing in Kolkata on March 25, MNM chief Kamal Haasan said: 

"The meeting was excellent. We are now proud to say that MNM is in alliance with the TMC for Andaman. And we hope this special relationship evolves. I am just going to campaign for their candidate in Andaman and I am going there on the 6th of April".

The actor-turned-politician shared of his 'old relationship' with TMC supremo and said that he is here to seek 'best wishes' from her.

Haasan had said that he would not contest in either of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls or the Tamil Nadu bypolls which will be held along with the General elections.
