Congress workers in Tamil Nadu attacked and heckled a photojournalist Vikatan who works for a weekly magazine for taking pictures of empty chairs from a Congress rally at Virudhunagar district. Tamil Nadu Congress committee president KS Alagiri had participated in the rally.
The Congress workers also tried to snatch his camera away from him. He was later rescued by other journalists and taken to a hospital.
The visuals seen in the video above show how the Congress cadres slapped and heckled and tried to take the camera away from the photojournalist.
The Chennai press club has demanded the police to take immediate action against the those who attacked the photojournalist and also asked the police to find his missing camera.
The incident comes when Rahul Gandhi who will contest from Wayanad in Kerala for the Lok Sabha polls has said in his numerous rallies that he espouses peace and love and said that he "loved PM Modi", and denounced hatred.
"I have no anger or hatred towards Narendra Modi. He has anger towards me," he said. He had also tweeted saying, "Hatred is cowardice. I don't care if the entire world is full of hatred. I am not a coward. I will not hide behind hate and anger. I love all living beings, including those temporarily blinded by hatred."
Rahul Gandhi was also slammed for his "joota"(shoe) comment when he remarked about LK Advani and PM Narendra Modi.
Speaking on the 'student-teacher' relationship that PM Modi and senior BJP leader LK Advani shares in the political discourse, the president of the grand old party alleged that 'student' PM Modi hit his 'teacher' LK Advani with a 'shoe' and kicked him out of the stage.
