With Lok Sabha elections just two days away, superstar Rajinikanth talked to the media outside his residence in Chennai, and said that 'he is not supporting any political party' in the upcoming polls.

Rajinikanth, ahead of his departure to Mumbai for filming of his upcoming AR Murugadoss-directorial 'Darbar', clarified to the media:

"I am not supporting any party for the elections, I have told this earlier, I am firm in my stand, I request media not to make it big issue."

Further, replying on Makkal Needhi Maiam chief and fellow actor Kamal Haasan's appeal seeking his support ahead of not only the Lok Sabha elections but also the assembly by-elections in Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth added that he is not supporting Haasan's campaign.

"I have already told my fans my stand on elections, there is no change in it. (On Kamal Hassan). I don’t like to talk about this issue (Kamal seeking support) any longer. I request media channels to kindly not to blow the matter up and spoil our relationship."

Replying on BJP's Sankalp Patra, that the party released on Monday in the presence of PM Narendra Modi, Rajinikanth said:

"BJP has released its manifesto yesterday. I have been saying for long about the linking of rivers, a dream that was there of the former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the Bagartha Yojana - an effort which is difficult to achieve but can be achieved. This is mentioned in the manifesto. Once if they come to power this should be the first thing they should take up and this will help the people more."

Rajinikanth who in 2017 announced that he will launch a party and had declared that he will contest the Lok Sabha elections on all seats has so far only formed a forum for his fans to unite. Recently, in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election, he has announced that he won't fight the election.
