Owaisi refuses commenting on coalition with Congress, says 'will form govt in Telangana on our own'

Asaduddin Owaisi issued a statement saying that AIMIM will win without support, but has refused to comment on Congress approaching his party

According to sources, Congress has reached out to Owaisi to form an alliance in Telangana. Owaisi, although has refused to comment on the issue, he is not ruling out the possibility to coalition with Congress. 

Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM on TRS statement said, 'we will form the government in Telangana on our own': All the speculations which are being raised are baseless. We should wait for the result. I don’t want to comment on the Congress welcoming AIMIM to Praja Kutami (People’s Front).

As far as BJP and TRS is concerned in Telangana, the BJP, via its state chief K Laxman, has dropped a massive hint that it would be open to lending support to KCR's TRS if the opportunity arises to form a government in the state. However, the BJP's support comes with a rider, which is that the AIMIM must not be in the same alliance.

In response to this, TRS sources have told Republic TV that the party is not looking for the support of the BJP and would rather remain close to the AIMIM. And sensationally, taking a cue from the BJP's hint, the Congress has said that if the TRS and BJP form an alliance, then the AIMIM can ally with the Congress.

Last week on December 3 in an exclusive interview to Republic TV, the AIMIM leader attacked Congress Party President Rahul Gandhi and the party.

He said, "In democracy opposing is important. I want my party to expand. This question of Rahul Gandhi that why you are fighting the elections, I ask him to please read the Constitution, the more people fight the election, democracy strengthens. You are of a very feudal nature that no one should oppose you. I will fight elections, I will lose elections and I will win elections. He questioned, why are you contesting in Maharashtra, why are you contesting in Bihar? What should we do. This is what our work is as a political party.”
