Congress president Rahul Gandhi has branded the TRS and AIMIM as a foil for the BJP in the poll-bound state of Telangana, ramping up his attack days before elections.

Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi, who has campaigned heavily in the state along with his mother Sonia Gandhi, has targeted the Telangana Chief Minister and coined a new acronym for the party, saying "TRS is the BJP's 'B' team and KCR operates Mr Modi's Telangana Rubber Stamp".

He proceeds to take on the AIMIM, calling it the BJP's 'C' team which aims to split the anti-BJP/KCR votes.

Finally, the Congress president proclaims that Modi, KCR and Owaisi are one and the same.

The last few days have seen a remarkable heightening in parties' attack on each other, not entirely corresponding with Rahul Gandhi's assessment. The Owaisi brothers and the BJP have engaged in a heated war of words following UP CM Yogi Adityanath's entry into the fray when he said Asaduddin Owaisi will have to flee like the Nizam fled Hyderabad.

Earlier, while speaking to Republic TV, Asaduddin Owaisi had also hit out at the Rahul Gandhi, the Congress and the BJP's 'B-team' allegation. Owaisi challenged Rahul Gandhi to get 120 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and make it 'game over' for the BJP and said that being a 'B-team' means that his party had risen from being accused of being an 'F-team' not long ago.

With elections on December 7, Rahul Gandhi will address a pair of rallies in Telangana on Monday, in Gadwal and Tandur.

The Prime Minister, meanwhile, will address a rally at Hyderabad on Monday evening.

A major focus of the rhetoric in Telangana has been about who was responsible for the state's creation. Sonia Gandhi, making a rare campaign speech, equated herself with the state's 'mother' saying that it hadn't been an easy decision to carve it out of Andhra Pradesh, but that she, former PM Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi had taken it. She also accused KCR of only working to benefit his own family, while even Rahul Gandhi made a 'dynasty' attack at the Telangana CM, something that was considered ironic by numerous commentators.
