Hours after Telangana Police seized over Rs 3 crore cash from Congress worker's house in Warangal's Kazipet district in the state, Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS) has hit out at Telugu Desam Party(TDP) and Congress for using money to buy votes, ahead of Telangana assembly elections. He went onto claim that it is the desperation of the Congress and TDP alliance to stoop down to this level of strategy.
"The election has taken a turn where the desperation of Congress and TDP is evident from money power and then attacks on the candidates where TDP person has worked as an election agent. They have stooped to such a level that they are trying to buy votes, but I can tell you on record that the people of Telangana have made their decision. They have also come to understanding that if they vote for Congress, there is going to be a power tussle between TDP and Congress, every year there is going to be a change in the government," said TRS leader Abid Rahool Khan.
Retaliating to TRS leader's comments, TDP leader Dinakar Lanka put the onus on the Telangana Police claiming that while cash is not there, police is attacking the Congress party and TRS party.
"Cash was seized from Reddy's house who was contesting from Congress. Crores of rupees were seized from TRS leader also. They are using money and muscle power. Even they are attacking TDP and Congress party workers and th. Even though cash is not there, police is going after TDP and Congress leaders house," said Dinakar Lanka speaking in the matter.
On Wednesday night, Telangana Police seized over Rs 3 crore cash from the house belonging to a Congress worker named Amrutha Rao in Kazipet district in Warangal. As per sources, the cash was planned to distributed to voters in Sangareddy constituency in favour of Congress candidate Jayaprakash Reddy, popularly known as Jagga Reddy.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan and Telangana will go into polls on December 7 and the counting of votes will take place on December 11.
