PM Modi levelled 'dynasty' attacks at opponent parties in the crucial elections in Telangana on Monday, while addressing a poll rally in Hyderabad.

Taking on each of the principal contenders in sequence, the Prime Minister argued how each of them had only promoted dynasty and the interests of particular persons rather than work for democracy and the people.

He issued a challenge to critics in New Delhi, telling them:

"Those who are sitting in New Delhi and waving flags of Liberalism, I tell them: If you dare, and if you're really honestly liberal, please speak up against this dynastic politics."

Elaborating on his point, he added, "Entire parties are solely focused on dynasty. For some families, father and son both contest elections, but in this case, entire parties run on dynasty!"

"Isn't it a threat to democracy?", the Prime Minister asked, contending, "The dreams of Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Constitution that he gave -- these dynast parties are stabbing it in the back."

Turning his gaze upon individual parties, he started first with the AIMIM:

"This AIMIM. Isn't it a dynastic party? Isn't it run by just a family", PM Modi asked about Asaduddin Owaisi's party.

Targeting the TDP next, he reminded the crowd that the party was founded following the Telugu movement after differences with then PM Rajiv Gandhi. "But today, for power, they have come together with those very same people. Is TDP a dynast party or not?"

Turning to the TRS, he asks, "Is the TRS a dynast party or not? Is it not a party for a family? Is Telangana only for that family? Isn't it the equivalent of stabbing democracy or not?"

Matters have heated up significantly between the BJP and the AIMIM, in particular, with leaders from both engaging in vitriolic exchanges days to go before the elections. UP CM Yogi Adityanath targeted the Owaisis, saying that Asaduddin would have to flee Hyderabad like the Nizam did if the BJP came to power. He also said that the BJP would change Hyderabad's name to Bhagyanagar. In response, the Owaisi brothers hit out at both Yogi and PM Modi, with Akbaruddin Owaisi levelling yet another 'chaiwala' attack.

Telangana goes to polls on December 7.
