Major Setback for KCR: TRS MP AP Jithender Reddy joins BJP in presence of party chief Amit Shah

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao-led TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) has been facing massive setbacks ahead of the Lok Sabha polls 2019. On Wednesday, TRS leader and sitting MP from Mahabubnagar AP Jithender Reddy joined the BJP party in the presence of party chief Amit Shah. 

As per reports, the decision to join BJP came after AP Jithender Reddy was refused renomination by the TRS party.

In another setback to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party, all the three candidates - including two sitting members - lost the elections to the state legislative council that were held in March 22. The results were declared in the early hours of Wednesday.

With only two weeks left for the Lok Sabha elections to take place, the PM Narendra Modi-led BJP party is witnessing several new entries into the party. 

Earlier on Wednesday, two of the three MGP MLAs in Goa joined the BJP party. 

In Odisha, former Director General of Police (DGP) Prakash Mishra joined the BJP in presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday. Furthermore, ex-Congress MLA from Jaleswar Debi Prasanna Chand and former BJD legislator Brundaban Majhi also joined the saffron party.

Meanwhile, renowned cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Paralympic Games winner Deepa Malik also joined the BJP on seperate occasions ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
