AIMIM's Akbaruddin Owaisi on Sunday targetted PM Narendra Modi's 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' campaign. The leader was campaigning in Hyderabad in Telangana for his brother and party chief Asaduddin Owaisi.
Akbaruddin while attacking the Prime Minister for his campaign said that he wanted a Prime Minister and not a Chowkidar or a Pakodewala. He also mocked the Chowkidar campaign saying if PM Modi is so keen on being a Chowkidar he will provide him a cap and a whistle.
"Chowkidar Narendra Modi, Chowkidar Amit Shah, everyone is a Chowkidar. Why are they changing the the the name to Chowkidar only on twitter. If you really want, then change it on Aadhaar card, Voter ID card and passports as well. I want a Prime Minister. What is this Chaiwala, Chowkidar, Pakodewala. I am surprised at Modi's followers. Sometimes he becomes Chaiwala sometimes he becomes a Fakir. If he is fond of being Chowkidar... Last time I told if he is actually Chaiwala then I will bring kettle and gas for him this time, and again I am telling if he is actually Chowkidar, I will give him a cap and a whistle," he said.
Akbaruddin's brother Asaduddin Owaisi had also been also targeting the PM with Chaiwala and Chowkidar comments.
On March 21, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi had questioned and targeted PM Modi using the Chowidar term over the verdict in the 2007 Samjhauta Express Blast case in which all four accused - Aseemanand, Lokesh Sharma, Kamal Chauhan and Rajinder Chaudhary - were acquitted by Panchkula's Special NIA Court on Wednesday.
"If you are really a 'Chowkidar', then announce tomorrow itself that you will appeal against the decision taken by the court to acquit Aseemanand in Samjhauta blast case. Why are you so afraid of Aseemanand? Aseemanand, at one point of time, was associated with RSS," Owaisi said while addressing a rally in Bahadurpura on Wednesday.
