In yet another attack on the Election Commission and the government at the Centre, BSP Supremo Mayawati claimed that the reason behind the EC's 'biased attitude' is because of the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Taking to Twitter, she said: "Despite criticism from the media, the EC is not working in as per citizen's satisfaction and neither are they functioning in an unbiased manner. The real reason for these is the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They are also under the scanner of many accusations related to their campaign in the elections."
Earlier, after her 48-hour ban was over, Mayawati alleged that the EC had not performed its duty well against those who violated the model code of conduct.
"The entire country is witnessing how BJP in this election is trying to divert the attention of the people from the religious sentiments of the citizens. Also, how BJP is trying to use the forces in the election, which directly is the violation of the model code of conduct. Even then Election Commission has kept quiet in the matter," Mayawati said speaking at the rally.
Further, criticising the EC for not cancelling the nomination of Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who is contesting from Bhopal Lok Sabha constituency on a BJP ticket, Mayawati said:
"In Bhopal, BJP candidate and Malegaon blast accused Sadhvi Pragya claims that she is fighting a 'dharamyudh'. This is BJP/RSS. This is their real face. But the poll body is only issuing notice to them. Why are they not canceling the nomination of this jewel of BJP?"
