Bhojpuri Superstar and BJP candidate from Gorakhpur Ravi Kishan spoke to Republic Bharat on the show "R Bharat Ki Bus" where he sang in praise of PM Narendra Modi in his typical style in Bhojpuri.

He also spoke about how he will go about in the campaigning for his seat.

"This elections is for electing the Prime Minister, not to elect the village's sarpanch. The Prime Minister has fulfilled the promises he made and I will talk about that in my campaigning. He went inside enemy's homes and retaliated, built toilets, cleaned the Ganga river, made an army of self-made people like myself, Manoj Tiwari and made a baba the CM of the state," he said.

Kishan sang a verse in adulation of PM Modi by comparing him with the humble food of the cow belt Litti chokha and compared the 'Mahavmilavat' to pizzas and burgers.

"He is like the litti choka which is the food of the poor, litti choka is tasty and those who don't have it wil repent. The opposition is like the pizza, burger and cutlet which spoils health.

"PM Narendra Modi is the superstar of politics who is selfless and whose ideology is nationalism," he said.

In BJP's 21st list of candidates for the ensuing phases of the Lok Sabha elections, the party decided to field actor-turned-politician from Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur constituency.

A seat which has been CM Yogi Adityanath's bastion since 1998 for five terms, before he vacated the seat to take the chief ministerial chair. However, following that, Gorakhpur, a prestigious constituency for the BJP was then filled by a Samajwadi Party leader in alliance with Mayawati's BSP, making it a significant loss for the BJP in the state Assembly elections.

The party also declared sitting MP Sanjay Nishad as its candidate from Sant Kabir Nagar by dropping Sharad Tripathi, who had beaten a local BJP MLA with shoes. Nishad had won the Gorakhpur seat in a bypoll as the SP candidate and he was supported by the BSP, under the grand alliance between the two parties.
