Targetting PM Modi's rally on Sunday where he claimed that 'Modi has one caste - poor', she slammed him for playing politics to gain the Dalit vote after never having done anything for the community.

"The sham put on by PM Modi in yesterday's rally in Uttar Pradesh to get the Dalit votes will be of no use. No one has forgotten the incidents against the Dalit community in the state for which I had protested and had to resign my Rajya Sabha post also. Even today, PM Modi has never spoken freely on the issues which the Dalit community faces. He has neither asked the failed leaders of the state where such crimes have occured to resign, nor has he offered to resign himself from the PM post for failing to protect the Dalits," she added.

Earlier on Sunday, hitting out at the SP-BSP coalition for questioning his caste, PM Modi had said that his caste was 'poor' as he had risen from poverty to serving in public office while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Deoria.

"I have only one caste. Listen clearly all casteist politicians who have been looting the poor for seventy years, Modi has only one caste - 'poor'. I have only one identity - 'poor'. I have experienced poverty firsthand. I have risen from poverty with the blessings of the poor, I have got the opportunity to serve the poor." he declared.
