Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been on a campaign overdrive in order to turn the fortunes of her party in Uttar Pradesh ahead of the upcoming, much-awaited Lok Sabha 2019 polls.

The younger Gandhi sibling, who is party's General Secretary East in the state, has not only visited her family's bastions - Amethi, Rae Bareli - in the past few days, but also the holy city of Ayodhya.

Though, now she has been involved in a controversy after her convoy, while was going from Ayodhya to Lucknow, was caught on camera going past the toll gates without stopping and paying the taxes.

Republic TV has accessed the CCTV footage from the toll booth at Ahmedpur, which shows the VVIP arrogance of the Congress party. As many as 20 cars, including Priyanka's one, went through the poll booths without halting and giving the due tax.

Priyanka Vadra has been holding a series of rallies across the state of Uttar Pradesh ever since plunging into politics. While she has campaigning for her party, she seems less sure about her fighting the upcoming elections.

On Wednesday, during her two-day visit to her brother Rahul Gandhi and mother Sonia Gandhi's constituencies Amethi and Rae Bareli respectively to lead the party's poll campaign, Priyanka Gandhi left the doors open for her candidature.

"I have not decided yet, if my party asks me to contest, I will definitely contest. My wish is to work for the party. I will do what my party wants me to," she said while speaking to the media.

Though, just a couple of days later, her brother and party president Rahul Gandhi claimed that it is upto her sister if she would like to fight.

"As far as Priyanka is concerned, it is up to her to decide if she wants to contest the election or not," the Gandhi scion said in an interview.

If Priyanka does choose to contest in the Lok Sabha polls, the constituency from where she may contest could be Varanasi, the bastion of PM Narendra Modi. She, while speaking to her party workers, had herself suggested the name of Varanasi when they were asking her to fight from Rae Bareli.
