On the day Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is to visit her mother Sonia Gandhi's bastion Rae Bareli, posters emerged from constituency slamming the mother-daughter duo of not showing up when the people need them.

Right outside the Congress' district office in the locality, posters were put up showing the Gandhis in a bad light.

"Whenever there is trouble in Rae Bareli, mother and daughter were nowhere to be seen. We had given them votes for work, but they failed to do so," read the posters against Sonia and Priyanka Gandhi.

Earlier, the younger Gandhi sibling had visited her brother and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi's bastion Amethi as she continued her series of rallies ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

During her meeting with the party workers in Amethi, Priyanka was caught on camera asking her candidates how the preparations for 2022 Uttar Pradesh state elections are going, something which BJP felt was an admission of defeat for the upcoming General elections.

"Are you preparing for the elections?" asked Priyanka to one of her party workers before adding, "Not for this one (Lok Sabha 2019), for the '22 (Uttar Pradesh state elections)."

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been doing a series of rallies ever since plunging into politics earlier this year. She has been campaigning for the party across Uttar Pradesh, and will next visit Ayodhya.

Though, when it comes to her contesting in the upcoming polls, the younger Gandhi sibling is unsure about it. During her meeting with party workers in Amethi and Rae Bareli, she suggested considering fighting from a seat if the party asks her to do so.

"I have not decided yet, but if my party asks me to contest, I will definitely contest. My wish is to work for the party," Priyanka Gandhi said while addressing the party workers.
