Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani launched a scathing attack at Congress president Rahul Gandhi and its general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. The Union Minister and BJP's candidate for Amethi, Smriti Irani on Sunday shared a video on Twitter which shows a man narrating the incident of the death of his uncle after he was denied treatment at Amethi's Sanjay Gandhi Hospital because they were holding an Ayushman Bharat card.
Taking to Twitter, Smriti Irani posted the video from Amethi in which she can be heard asking questions to the man, who is recounting how his family was turned away by the hospital because they were Ayushman Bharat card which is launched by the Modi government.
In the video, Smriti Irani is seen asking the man questions on how he had taken his uncle to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital with Ayudhman Bharat Card and then help, saying that "this hospital is not Yogi and Modi's hospital. Ayushma card doesn't work here."
"Today, I am speechless - How can someone stoop down to such a level, I never thought. A poor was denied help only because he was holding a PM Modi Ayushman Bharat card and had gone to Rahul Gandhi's hospital," she wrote in the tweet.
"We called the helpline number given in the Ayushman card, they said there is a helpline office, but we couldn't find the place. Nobody told us, because we are strangers, we aren't educated also. Here, now what can I say? He said that this is Yogi (UP CM Yogi Adityanath) and Modi's government, but this is Congress' hospital, Rahul Gandhi's and Sanjay Gandhi. We joined hands. There were 400-500 people from the village who came with the patients. We don't have video, we had a patient, if we had taken a video, we would have shown. Understand this. And my uncle has young children, they are orphaned," the man can be heard saying in the video.
When the Union Minister enquired about the old man’s health, he replied saying that he passed away on 26th of April itself.
"Sanjay Gandhi Hospital's trustee Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra must respond - why did you kill an innocent?" she wrote in another tweet.
World's largest state-sponsored welfare scheme, Ayushman Bharat aims to provide health insurance coverage to more than 10 crore poor families in the country.
